RJ Archer and the Painful Memories
Who Are They?
Hailing from Cambridgeshire, formed in July 2019, the group was born out of a happy accident: frontman Richard Archer won studio time as a competition prize and recruited his long-term friends to help him record. The chemistry was so strong they decided to make it a permanent project.
Their sound is a gritty, blues-infused blend of "high-quality rock action." They are often compared to legendary acts like Dr. Feelgood, Creedence Clearwater Revival, ZZ Top, and Status Quo. While their sound is rooted in classic rock and the "delights of the riff," they also experiment with acoustic ballads and folk-style storytelling.
